Elephants' Graveyard

The so-called elephants' graveyard is a common myth about elephants. Throughout the course of their lives, elephants regrow six times their tusks. After they make it past 60, their latest set of teeth is worn-out, so they retreat to marshy regions, where softer feed grows. The concentration of older and weaker animals in these regions means that they die in very confined spaces, which gave rise to the misbelief that elephants have a certain place they always go to die.
