The Dead Pool

A dead pool, also known as a death pool, is a gambling arrangement to guess the person who is going to die next, sometimes with money at stake. A typical dead pool game is set with participants gathering on January 1 and making guesses about possible celebrity casualties within the year. Variations on game length and timing are also allowed in case it seems unlikely that one year is not going to be enough of a deadline for the results to be in.
